What it is

A label's home, with a record you can play

The label needed one place for new releases, where to listen, its story and a mailing list, with the feel of the records themselves: dark, olive, loud type that keeps moving.

How it was made

From rounds of designs to a record that scratches

01 · Design

Rounds, not guesses

Several genuinely different designs first, then round after round of picks, section by section, until one was left. Every round is still viewable.

02 · Build

Static, fast, editable

Plain HTML written by a small Python builder, hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The label adds releases through a CMS, without me.

03 · The record

Scratch, flick, spin

The record keeps its own momentum: drag to scratch, flick to spin it up, pull back to play it in reverse. Try it:

33⅓ rpm · Playing

angle += velocity * dt;
velocity += (target - velocity) * grip;
